Welp, here we are again, another cross roads and another new beginning. As many of my dear friends are starting another first day of school, I have decided to start a blog. Taking a year off to work and of course, pardon the cliche, 'find myself', I have felt my need to find a new hobby to keep myself busy, in which i started to pursue baking cupcakes, which naturally goes oh so well with my long time favorite hobby, finding new beers (and by long time, i mean clearly only the 6 months I've been 21). I have found that the beautiful part of the country i have moved to, Southern Oregon, is a thriving place for both breweries and wineries (in which i have found my new career in bar tending and wine tasting). But it has come to my attention that one day it would be my ultimate dream to own a bakery that also has local microbrews, just as long was i don't have to run the business side, and would love to call it Baked and Brewed, so we'll see how that works out, but here's the start of it.
So let's get right into it shall we, my beer of the night comes from Cascade Lakes Brewing Company, located in Redmond, Oregon, and is Blonde Bombshell, a golden or BLONDE ale. clearly, i was drawn to it from the name and the Marilyn Monroe-esque illustration on the front of the box. This beer is really delicious and light, not too hoppy, but still a nice wheat taste to it, easy drinking, generally what I look for in a beer, definitely not the best beer I've tasted, but for sure a fun beer. if you see it, and you like a summery wheat beer, try it, but I don't think you need to run out and search for it, I'll let you know when that is necessary.
whelp thanks for tuning in folks, we'll have a baking lesson tomorrow before work.
First of all- Oregon is one of like 5 craft beer meccas in the US. Deschutes and Rogue and Hair of the Dog oh my! Second- you open your cupcakery/beer haven and I'll run your business. Done and done.
